The factory charge-air cooling system is sized for stock duty, so its heat exchanger soaks under sustained boost, towing, and back-to-back pulls - pulling timing and power as charge-air temperatures climb. The Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger adds cooling capacity where the factory system runs short: dyno testing shows a 10°F reduction in charge-air cooler temperatures, worth a measured 12 horsepower and 10 lb-ft.----Rather than replacing the OEM unit, the Mishimoto heat exchanger plumbs in series with the factory exchanger, increasing total system capacity while leaving the stock cooling circuit intact.
